We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a financial background who has had experience creating financial scenario modelling for business activities, who can add value by helping develop and drive business improvement programmes.
This is an exciting time to join the Regional and Local Planning Department, which has recently conducted a comprehensive review of the way we do business, as part of our ongoing commitment to contributing to the Mayor's/Councillors' vision for Auckland as being 'the world's most liveable city'.
This exciting and challenging role will be part of a team of Business Liaison Advisors in the newly formed Business Performance and Quality team, each responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated business performance management system within their area of expertise.
This role will work with the department's financial business partners to gather and collate financial information for budgeting and reporting, ensuring that all financial policies, processes and contractual obligations are being met across the department and that the financial models are in line with the strategic direction.
To be successful in this role, you will have a practical and applied knowledge of business performance management in the finance area preferably in a local government environment. You will have experience analysing business performance indicators, understanding change management and business improvement principles, producing process models and facilitating the production of a business plan to drive performance excellence.
Your attention-to-detail and ability to think long-term and 'big picture' are essential. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with senior management and a diverse range of staff across the business. To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, you must hold a relevant tertiary qualification in business management, quality assurance or other related field. You should be an expert user of the Microsoft Office suite with expert reporting experience.
