The Infrastructure Services team within the Council pride themselves on an ability to approach complex engineering challenges with innovative, high quality, and sustainable solutions. We are seeking an ambitious, motivated & innovative 3 Waters Planning Engineer who can hit the ground running in this rewarding and challenging role.

You will have:

• Experience in a similar role, and Local Government Engineering
• A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a Bachelor of Engineering
• 2 years water modelling experience in either a corporate or consulting environment, preferably in New Zealand
• Hands-on experience with measures leading to significant long term reductions in water demand
• A proven ability to think outside the square

This is a role focussed on managing the operation of the future planning of 3 Waters Networks. It will suit a professional who is approaching or has already achieved Chartered Engineer status.

Alongside taking ownership of the planning process relative to the 3 Waters Activity Management Plan, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving strategies and policies for Council to consider, which support sustainability, affordability and risk reduction. You will be the advocate for Water Demand measures and champion this behaviour change within Council, and be a fountain of knowledge in relation to Stormwater Catchment plans.
