Eastern Bay of Plenty Emergency Management Co-ordinator
Being based at the Whakatane District Council, this position will provide civil defence and emergency management services to the Whakatane, Kawerau and Opotiki District Council's in one of New Zealand's most beautiful areas, the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
This position will co-ordinate the delivery of Eastern Bay of Plenty Emergency Operations Centre functions, contribute to emergency management planning work with the Group Emergency Management Office (GEMO),co-ordinate the full range of civil defence emergency management functions to the Eastern Bay of Plenty region across the 4Rs (Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery). The position will also contribute to robust, high quality emergency planning outcomes for the Bay of Plenty CDEM Group.
Key skills: • A recognised tertiary qualification in public sector management, emergency management, risk management or a related field. • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, National CDEM Strategy, the Resource Management Act 1991, other relevant legislation.
