The Policy and Planning team is responsible for all strategic and community-based planning and the District Plan. As one of the Council’s key Senior Policy Analysts, you will work across various legislation and disciplines, undertaking key projects yourself as well as managing policy projects that will be undertaken either by internal staff or consultants. Some key components of your varied workload will include drafting and monitoring policies, strategies and guidelines alongside community consultation, advice to Council, and preparation of plan changes & reviews.
To be successful, it is desirable that you can display at least 5 years planning experience at a senior level, including drafting public policy. You will also have relevant qualifications, and a good understanding of local government and relevant legislation, most significantly the Resource Management Act and Local Government Act.
