Invercargill. It is a city that surprises many, a city that belies the pre-conceptions some have of it. It may be at the bottom of the world but in so many respects it is very much at the top of it. Find out why.
Reporting to the CEO you are one of three direct reports. Your responsibility will be the overarching strategic delivery and management of regulatory services including resource management/planning, environmental health, building and compliance services. It is a role with significant scope and you will be well supported by a team of six direct reports and a further team of 54.
We have no doubt the role will draw upon your extensive managerial experience, commercial acumen and familiarity with large and complex business environments. You will provide strong leadership and clear direction and have a demonstrated ability to inspire confidence and respect from all quarters. Our focus on continuous quality improvement means there is scope for you to review current services and operational structures in order to meet changing service needs. Results oriented, you set and achieve goals.
You will have a tertiary qualification in planning and preferably complement this with post-graduate qualifications in local government, management, environmental law, economics or similar.
Find out why we are on top of the world in so many respects. For further information contact Christine Theissen, Human Resources Manager on 03 2111 651 or download a job description and application form from our website. Applications close Monday 19 July 2010. www.icc.govt.nz
