An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Partner to join Tauranga City Council which requires the successful individual to provide strategic and operational advice to stakeholders within the council. The role reports to the Executive Manager: Human Resources.

As a senior member of the HR team you will contribute towards the transformation of the HR function within TCC and be responsible for mentoring the rest of the HR partner team.

The successful applicant must have substantial human resource experience at a senior level gained in a large complex organisation, preferably within a culture of local government or similar.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate significant experience in the following:

  • HR Generalist (with a strength in HR advice and performance management)
  • Working with an HR team that is experiencing change.
  • Implementing initiatives to develop a high performing culture across the organisation.
  • Translating employee engagement results into practical solutions.

Ideally you should be accredited (or familiar) with OCI and LSI tools and have exposure to leading edge contemporary HR solutions.

It is desirable that you also have some experience in:

  • Continuous improvement of HR activities including automation of HR practices.
  • Process mapping .
  • Lean six sigma.

This is a demanding role, full of variety, its not for the faint hearted, so you must enjoy thriving in a full on environment and having things coming at you from all directions, meaning you are adept in juggling multiple tasks, always approachable, with high standards of service.
