Waitomo District Council (WDC) is looking for an experienced Asset Engineer – Roading to join a busy team charged with managing the District’s extensive roading network. Reporting to the Manager – Asset Operations, you will provide technical support and professional services in the planning for and management of roading assets.
Responsibilities include: • Management of various transport asset components • Management of the collection of asset related data • Proactive contribution to Council’s long term planning processes • Development and monitoring of roading asset capital and operational budgets • Development of polices associated with the roading network • Management of roading projects and improvement programmes
A positive work ethic, participative team style and highly developed written and oral skills are key attributes for this role. A relevant tertiary qualification (BE - Civil/NZCE) would be advantageous. Previous experience in a contract management role and or relevant local government experience is desirable.
