You will be a motivated and experienced Policy Planner working in the field of urban and rural development strategy, design and policy development with a high level understanding of the growth issues impacting on the Tasman Region.

 

Based in Richmond, this is a fixed term position to cover parental leave and provide additional resources to assist with advancing priority policy work.  You will be involved in examining and steering development futures planning in some of the high demand areas in Tasman District. There is currently planning underway to establish a further permanent position from July.

 

Essential attributes are:

· A relevant qualification in planning, resource management or science, preferably at post graduate level and at least three years relevant experience

· Knowledge of wide range of environmental legislation, policy and plan making and consent processes

· Sound technical understanding of resource management issues, particularly urban and rural development issues

· Sound understanding of Resource Management Act requirements
