The Business Support team within the Environment Directorate requires the assistance of a multi-skilled Business Analyst who enjoys data mining, e-file management, investigation, trend analysis, business analysis and reporting.

As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing business support and improvement services to the business owner and to the senior managers within the Directorate and the wider organisation. Competencies in the creation and management of electronic file repositories are a requirement of this role.

Developed skills in the use of MS Access and MS Office is essential. Competencies in Visual Basic for indexing and hyper-linking is also a prerequisite, as is an understanding of advanced Excel functionality. A working knowledge of SQL and Cognos is also preferred.

Additional responsibilities include business reporting, business analysis and interpretation, trend analysis using graphs and similar visual aids, financial analysis and interpretation as well as providing business recommendations, business plan and business case preparation.

To be considered for this unique role you will be an experienced Business Analyst with extensive experience in a similar role at a senior level. Ideally you will have a strong understanding or working knowledge of public sector entities and naturally a relevant business qualification. As a seasoned professional you will have a demonstrated ability to engage key stakeholders within the business, have expertise in liaising across all levels of an organisation and be willing to get involved in the detail.
