One role with an environmental science/planning focus
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Consent and Compliance Officers on a fixed term basis with the Auckland Regional Council.
We are seeking people with experience in civil engineering, natural science and or resource planning preferably with a background in stormwater or erosion control. As Consent and Compliance Officer you will relish the opportunity to be part of the team focusing on water quality in the Auckland region and ensure that development enhances our environment.
The focus of this role is to preserve and enhance the water quality of the region’s stream, estuaries and harbours by ensuring development is undertaken in accordance with best practice for environmental management.
We are seeking two candidates with qualifications preferably at post-graduate level, one in resource management/planning and/or environmental science, the second in resource engineering (civil). You will have a minimum of two years experience in this or a related field. A detailed knowledge of the Resource Management Act (1991) is required. A full drivers licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle and work alongside contractors on rough terrain is essential.
